I installed Windows 11. I am not able to hold the mouse and increase the size of the taskbar. It can only accommodate few tabs and then it pushes everything as hidden with three dots to click. I want to see all the tabs at the same time with the taskbar size increased.

    Hello BAVISKAR Sachin,

The specific functionality to unlock the taskbar and drag its edge to increase height, allowing for multiple rows of open applications, was removed in Windows 11. The operating system's shell design currently locks the taskbar to a single row at the bottom of the screen, and there are no native settings or stable registry modifications supported by Microsoft to restore the vertical resizing capability found in Windows 10.

To address your requirement of seeing all tabs with their labels, you can disable button grouping, provided your system is updated to Windows 11 version 23H2 or later. Navigate to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar, expand the Taskbar behaviors section, and set the option Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. This will display the full labels for your open windows rather than just icons. However, please note that because the taskbar is restricted to a single row, once the horizontal space is filled, the system will inevitably group the remaining windows into the overflow menu (the three dots) you are experiencing.

I hope you've found something useful here. If it helps you get more insight into the issue, it's appreciated to accept the answer. Should you have more questions, feel free to leave a message. Have a nice day!

    VP

In Windows 11, the taskbar size cannot be manually adjusted by dragging it like in previous versions of Windows. Instead, you can customize the taskbar settings to optimize the visibility of your open applications. Here are a few suggestions:

    1. Taskbar Settings: Right-click on the taskbar and select Taskbar settings. Here, you can adjust various settings that may help manage how your applications are displayed.
    2. Combine Taskbar Buttons: You can choose to combine taskbar buttons, which will help in managing space. Go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar and look for the option to combine buttons.
    3. Use Smaller Taskbar Buttons: In the taskbar settings, you can also enable the option for smaller taskbar buttons to fit more icons.
    4. Pin Important Apps: Pin the applications you use most frequently to the taskbar to minimize the number of open windows.

Unfortunately, if you want to see all tabs at once without any hidden icons, there is no direct way to increase the size of the taskbar itself in Windows 11.
