I have one app in App Store Connect and one app in Google Play Console that I use for uploading test builds. What happens with my test builds when I launch the app(from App Store Connect and Google Play Console) in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store? Can I still use the same app in App Store Connect and in Google Play Console for testing after the launch? For example, when I want to upload a new test build with new features for my app? I don´t know if I need to create a new app in App Store Connect and in Google Play Console that I use only for testing new builds after I launched the other app.

    Hello @Kim Strasser ,

You don’t usually need to create a second app just to continue testing after launch.

After your app goes live in the App Store, you can keep uploading new builds to TestFlight without affecting what users see in production. TestFlight and the production App Store operate on separate channels.

For Google Play Console, you work with different release tracks (internal testing, closed testing, open testing, and production). Once you publish to production, you can still push new builds to any of the testing tracks. Testers receive the test versions, while regular users get the production version.

You can check out Apple’s TestFlight documentation and Google Play’s release management guide for more details on how these workflows operate.

While these are not Microsoft websites, they provide official guidance on the respective platforms.

I hope this clarifies, and happy holidays.

You can use the same app in App Store Connect and Google Play Console for both testing and publishing. After launching your app in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, you can continue to upload new test builds with new features using the same app in both platforms. There is no need to create a separate app solely for testing purposes unless you choose to do so for organizational reasons. Just ensure that your test builds adhere to the guidelines and requirements set by both Apple and Google for their respective stores.
