If your computer is going into the BitLocker recovery screen after a hard shutdown while in sleep mode, it may be due to changes in the system that trigger BitLocker recovery. Common causes for entering recovery mode include hardware changes, BIOS settings, or issues with the TPM (Trusted Platform Module). Here are some steps you can take to address the issue:

    1. Check BIOS Settings: Ensure that the BIOS settings related to boot order and TPM are correctly configured. Sometimes, changes in these settings can lead to BitLocker recovery.
    2. Update Drivers and Firmware: Make sure your system drivers and firmware are up to date, as outdated drivers can cause instability.
    3. Disable Sleep Mode: If the issue persists, consider disabling sleep mode to see if that resolves the problem. This can prevent the system from entering a state that leads to recovery.
    4. Review BitLocker Settings: Check your BitLocker configuration to ensure that it is set up correctly and that recovery information is backed up properly.

If the problem continues, you may want to perform a root cause analysis to determine what specifically is causing the device to enter recovery mode. This can help prevent future occurrences.

    Hello,

On certain PC models from some manufacturers, forcing Windows to shut down can trigger a BitLocker recovery prompt the next time the system starts.

To resolve this issue, please update the TPM firmware from your PC manufacturer’s support page, or contact the manufacturer’s support team for instructions on how to update the firmware.

If device encryption or BitLocker is not required in your environment, disabling it is also an option.
You can disable them by referring to the support article below.
