how can i change my date of birth. i accidently put 2013 even though i was born in 2003

    Because your account is currently classified as a child account, you will need assistance from a parent or guardian (a verified adult) to update your date of birth. The adult helping you should follow the appropriate steps below based on your account setup. 

    Here are the specific paths forward based on your situation: 

    Scenario A: Your account IS already part of a Microsoft family group. 

    In this case, the adult who manages the family (the Family Organizer) can directly update your birthdate for you. Please ask them to: 

    1. Sign into their own Microsoft account. 
    2. Go to account.microsoft.com/family
    3. Locate your account in the family list and update your birth year. 

    Scenario B: Your account is NOT currently part of a family group (it's a standalone account). 

    To proceed with the update, you must complete Microsoft's adult verification process directly. Here are the steps:

    2. Expand the section titled "I'm an adult, but Microsoft thinks I'm a child".
