I bought the Ibis paint Pro-addon but its not what i please, i only just got it and im trying to refund it because it was almost 50$CAD, ive tried contacting support but i just keep getting sent in circles from order history to payment options. i dont understand why i cant refund it and its fustrating me a lot, for something so expensive youd figure it would be easy to return. like i said i havent even used it, all i did was open the app so i could see if i could refund it through there

To refund a program downloaded from the Microsoft Store, such as the Ibis Paint Pro-addon, you should follow these steps:

    1. Check Refund Eligibility: You may be eligible for a full refund if you request it within a specific time frame after purchase. For most digital content, refunds are generally available if requested shortly after the purchase.
    2. Initiate a Refund Request: Go to your Microsoft account's order history page. Locate the purchase for the Ibis Paint Pro-addon and look for the option to request a refund. Since you mentioned that you have only opened the app, you should be in a good position to request a refund.
    3. Contact Microsoft Support: If you encounter problems with the automated refund process, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support directly. Provide them with details about your purchase and explain your situation clearly to facilitate the process.
    4. Refund Processing: After submitting your refund request, it will be reviewed. If approved, the refund will be processed back to your original payment method.

If you continue to experience difficulties, it may help to reiterate your request to support, emphasizing that you have not used the app significantly.

    Hello Jackie,

Thank you for reaching out and I completely understand how frustrating it can feel when you’ve paid a significant amount for something that didn’t meet your expectations. It makes sense that you’d want the refund process to be straightforward especially since you only opened the Ibis Paint Pro add‑on and haven’t used it in any meaningful way. Digital items sold through the Microsoft Store can sometimes be tricky because Microsoft’s refund policies for apps and add‑ons depend on eligibility rules that vary by region and product type and Microsoft states that digital goods like apps and add‑ons are generally not returnable unless applicable laws or specific offers allow a refund.

A helpful alternative approach is to start by signing in to your Microsoft account and going directly to the Refund Request page rather than navigating through the order history menu. From there you can search for the Ibis Paint Pro purchase and submit a manual refund request even if the automated button doesn’t appear. This route sometimes captures purchases that are not shown as refundable through the standard order list. After submitting your request Microsoft reviews digital refunds individually and may approve them after verifying usage and eligibility and if approved the refund is processed back to your original payment method within a few business days according to Microsoft’s refund processing guidelines.

Another option is to reach out to Microsoft Support via the Sales & Billing support channel instead of the general support loop. That team can manually pull up your transaction and escalate cases where the system is not offering the expected refund path which is useful when you are being redirected in circles.

I’d love to know whether the refund button is missing entirely on your refund request page or whether it appears but leads nowhere?

I hope this answer is helpful if you have further questions feel free to reply back

    Regards,

    Marcelo
