I want to have a tree structure in file explorer, like in Mac "Finder". Is there a way to do this in Window 11 with file explorer.

In Windows 11, the File Explorer does not have a built-in tree structure like the Finder in macOS. However, you can utilize the left pane of File Explorer, which displays a hierarchical view of your drives, folders, and libraries. This pane allows you to navigate through your file system in a tree-like manner by expanding and collapsing folders.

    To view this structure:

    1. Open File Explorer.
    2. Look at the left sidebar where you will see your drives and folders listed.
    3. Click on the small arrows next to folders to expand or collapse them, revealing subfolders.

This functionality mimics a tree structure, allowing you to navigate your files and folders efficiently.

    Hi,

The only similar thing similar to Mac's Finder is the left panel or the File explorer Navigation pane. You can activate this tree-like view by right-clicking on an empty space then selecting Show all folders.

If you find it lacking, I suggest you provide your feedback by pressing Windows + F to open up the Feedback Hub app. In the meantime, perhaps a third-party app might provide the features you are looking for such as this one.
