I have a valid subscription (renewed it more than a week early just in case) but Word still not working. Getting error messages when I try to renew. This is a recurring problem with Office. I am going to cancel/remove and switch to the Apple products supplied with my Mac. How do I get my money back for this absolutely piece of crap software ?

Love the way MS want 'the community' to sort out their lack of testing/product development capability.

Microsoft, take some responsibility for your code.

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

Are you able to see your MS365 subscription under the Services & subscriptions page here: https://account.microsoft.com/services (make sure you’re signed in with the same Microsoft account you used to buy Office)?

If you can see it there and it is active, please follow these steps below.

If you haven't already, I’d suggest is to uninstall any existing Office apps on your Mac to avoid conflict:

    Then, to reinstall Microsoft Office:

    • Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services again.
    • Sign in using the same Microsoft account linked to your subscription.
    • Find your Microsoft 365 subscription and click the "Install" button.
    • That will download the installer for the Office apps, just run it and follow the steps.

If anything’s unclear or the "Install" button still doesn’t show, feel free to let me know. I’ll be happy to walk you through it!

I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

If you're encountering issues with Word indicating that your Office 365 subscription is not valid despite having a valid subscription, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check Subscription Status: Ensure that your subscription is active. You can do this by logging into the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and checking under Billing > Your products.
    2. Sign Out and Sign Back In: Sometimes, simply signing out of your Microsoft account in Word and signing back in can resolve activation issues. To do this, open Word, click on your name or profile picture at the top, select Sign out, and then sign back in.
    3. Update Microsoft 365: Ensure that your Office applications are up to date. Open Word, go to File > Account, and select Update options > Update now.
    4. Reset Activation State: You may need to reset the activation state of Microsoft 365. Instructions for this can be found in the Microsoft documentation.
    5. Check for Correct Version: Make sure that you have the correct version of Office installed that matches your subscription type. If necessary, uninstall and reinstall Office.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance or to inquire about a refund if you decide to switch to another product.

Yes that worked thank you, I think I had to do the same last year. Uninstalling software and reinstalling every time I renew the subscription seems to be a flawed model. In the old days when you could just buy the software it ran for years without having to spend time fiddling to make it work. If MS want to fleece customers via subscription models they could at least ensure it works. Don't think I will be doing this next year, Pages does everything I want and typically Apple, just works.
