How to switch my Account from Personal Account to Work Account when button is missing in My Settings?

Hello!

I am trying to connect Microsoft Ads to BigQuery in GCP, I have achieved all the credentials I need and initiated the Cloud Run Function. However I get the following error log:

ErrorCode = "PersonalIdentityNotAvailable"
Message = "You must use a work account to sign in to Bing Ads."
Code = "122"

Now I have looked into this problem and found out that my Account has been set to 'Personal Account', instead of 'Work Account'. Now have I found the following method to switch my Account status:

  1. From the navigation menu on the left, hover over Settings and select My settings.
  2. Select Switch to a work account, and follow the instructions on the screen.

However, when I check this I don't have such a prompt, I have:

User's image

However it should be here, my colleagues do have the prompt here.

Does anyone know the answer to this, it would be really helpful :)!

    Hi Tristan

    Thank you for using our Microsoft Advertising Learn Q&A Platform!

    The error message Personal Identity Not Available with code 122 indicates that your Microsoft Advertising account is currently set up as a personal account, but the API and integrations (such as connecting to BigQuery) require a work account.

    Thank you for confirming that you’ve already tried switching to a work account without success.

    In this case, the next step is to have another Super Admin in your Microsoft Advertising account remove you as a user and then send you a new user invitation. When you receive the new invite, make sure to log in using your work account credentials.

    Once your account is converted to a work account, retry the authentication process for your Cloud Run function. This should eliminate the error and allow the connection to proceed.

    If this still does not resolve the issue, please reply to the private message I sent you so that I can assist you further.

    I hope the information provided here will at least partly answer your question.  If you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to reach out to our support.

    Kind regards,
