I purchased microsoft 365 Personal 2 days ago . However when I try to sign in I keep getting told that I have to sign in with my work or school account . I do not have a work or school account . I am a 86 year old senior and don't work or go to school . Why am I being denied access with my personal account ?

    Hey there, Daniel Prokopetz

Where are you seeing this sign in page (In Microsoft Office its self or on a website)?

Please can you check if you have a personal subscription when you sign into your Microsoft account here: https://account.microsoft.com/services ?

    Thanks,
    Nathan

It seems that you are encountering issues because Microsoft 365 Personal requires a personal Microsoft account for sign-in, but the system may be prompting you for a work or school account due to the way the account is set up or recognized. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Ensure you are using the correct account: Make sure you are signing in with the personal Microsoft account that you used to purchase Microsoft 365 Personal. If you have multiple accounts, it might help to check which one is linked to your subscription.
    2. Clear your browser cache: Sometimes, cached data can cause issues with sign-in. Try clearing your browser's cache or using a different browser or a private browsing window to sign in.
    3. Contact Microsoft Support: If you continue to experience issues, it may be best to reach out to Microsoft Support for assistance. They can help you troubleshoot the problem and ensure that your account is set up correctly.

If you do not have a work or school account and are being prompted for one, it may be due to a misconfiguration in the account settings.
