When editing the home page of our SharePoint, I went to add a "Link" webpart and I added it fine but when editing it it lets me change the title, add a description but there is nowhere for me to actually put the link. There is no field for a URL like there used to be. I'm so tired of Microsoft just removing features.

    Dear @Uchenna Chidozie,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on my understanding, it sounds like you are having trouble editing your SharePoint Home page.

    • You have added the Link web part.
    • You can see options to edit the Title and Description.
    • However, you don't see any field to enter or edit the URL.

Please let me know if I have understood the situation correctly.

Based on my test environment, the Link web part is not broken and the feature has not been removed. Currently, the URL must be pasted directly into the web part on the page itself, while the settings pane on the right is only used for adjusting the title and description.

As shown in the image below, you just need to click on the area I’ve circled in red to edit and enter the new URL you want. (Click on the main URL of the web part)

If there’s anything I may have misunderstood, I would truly appreciate it if you could provide a bit more detail to help me better understand your needs.

    Looking forward to your reply!

It seems that you are experiencing an issue with the "Link" web part in SharePoint where there is no field available to insert a URL. This could be related to the new look and navigation experience for document libraries in SharePoint Online, which has undergone changes that may affect how web parts function. Unfortunately, specific details about the current behavior of the "Link" web part are not provided in the context available.

As a workaround, you can try using the ellipsis (...) for an item in the list, selecting more, and then clicking Properties to see if there are any options available for adding links. Additionally, you might want to check if there are any updates or changes in the SharePoint documentation regarding the functionality of web parts.

If the issue persists, consider reaching out to the SharePoint Community for more assistance.
