Open Device Manager and check to be sure there are no device driver errors showing.

Go to the motherboard or system builder website and make sure all drivers are up to date.

Did you update to Windows 11 from Windows 10 or did you buy the computer with Windows 11 pre-installed?

If you're experiencing sound issues on your new PC running Windows 11, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

    1. Check Audio Output Device: Ensure that the correct audio output device is selected. Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar, select "Open Sound settings," and check the output device.
    2. Update Audio Drivers: Sometimes, outdated or incompatible audio drivers can cause sound issues. You can check for driver updates by going to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates. If updates are available, install them.
    3. Reinstall Audio Drivers: If updating doesn't work, you may need to reinstall the audio drivers. Go to Device Manager, find your audio device under "Sound, video and game controllers," right-click it, and select "Uninstall device." Restart your PC, and Windows should automatically reinstall the drivers.
    4. Run the Audio Troubleshooter: Windows 11 has a built-in troubleshooter that can help diagnose and fix audio issues. Go to Settings > System > Sound, and under "Advanced," select "Troubleshoot."
    5. Check Volume Mixer: Sometimes, specific applications may be muted in the volume mixer. Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar and select "Open Volume Mixer" to check if any applications are muted.
    6. Check for Windows Updates: Ensure your system is fully updated, as updates can include important fixes for sound issues. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be necessary to contact your device manufacturer for further assistance, especially if the issue is hardware-related.
