We have lost all Global Administrator access in our Microsoft 365 tenant.

I am the domain owner, but my account no longer has admin roles and the portal shows “There is no admin to contact”.

We need Microsoft to verify domain ownership and assign a new Global Administrator.

The tenant and domain are still active. Moved from: Microsoft 365 and Office | Access | For business | Other

Microsoft 365 and Office | Subscription, account, billing | For business | Other

    Dear @Pavlo Klyukha

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

In this case, you must contact the Microsoft Data Protection Team to request to regain Global Administrator rights for this tenant. You might need to contact them via the phone service number: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support. The agent will be able to create a ticket for you under the affected tenant and then transfer this ticket to the Data Protection team, who can help you verify domain ownership and assign the Global Admin role to the current owner.

If you still cannot reach to agent, there is still a workaround, you might consider registering for a new tenant by signing up for a trial subscription via this link Compare All Microsoft 365 Plans | Microsoft. This would allow you to create a trial tenant following the provided prompts. Once set up, you can access the admin console of the trial tenant and submit a support ticket requesting to speak with the Data Protection team on behalf of your previous tenant.

Note: Please remember to cancel the trial subscription once your issue is resolved to avoid any unintended charges.

As a moderator, I do not have the tools to deep dive into your tenant. This is because Microsoft's data security protocols are very strict, and only Data Protection Team is equipped with the necessary tools to investigate your specific tenant.

Also, you should set up an additional secondary Global Admin account. That way, if there is a problem with the primary account, you can use the secondary account to regain access.

If any step is unclear, or you get stuck even a little, please reply and I’ll guide you through it.

    Looking forward to your response!

If you have lost all Global Administrator access in your Microsoft 365 tenant, you can initiate recovery of your access by following these steps:

    1. Verify Domain Ownership: Since you mentioned you are the domain owner, you will need to verify your ownership through Microsoft's identity verification processes. This typically involves providing official business documentation or domain ownership evidence.
    2. Submit a Support Request: If you cannot regain access through the usual methods, submit a support request to Microsoft:
      • Go to the Microsoft 365 support page.
      • Select I can't sign in or access my tenant.
      • You may be asked to verify your identity and ownership of the organization through various means such as official business documentation or domain ownership.
    3. Contact Microsoft Support: If you are unable to resolve the issue through the support page, you can contact Microsoft support directly for assistance in regaining access to your tenant.
    4. Check for any Existing Global Admins: If there are no Global Admins left in your organization, you will need to rely on Microsoft support to help you regain access.

Since your tenant and domain are still active, following these steps should help you recover your Global Administrator access.
