I can't connect to the internet, because it says that it's using a virtual network adapter that can't be tested. How do I fix it & get connected?

To resolve the issue of not being able to connect to the internet due to a virtual network adapter problem, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check the Network Adapter Settings: Ensure that the virtual network adapter is enabled and properly configured. You can do this by going to the Device Manager, finding the network adapters section, and checking the status of the virtual adapter.
    2. Reset the Network Adapter: Sometimes, resetting the network adapter can help. You can do this by going to the Command Prompt and running the following commands:
         netsh int ip reset
         netsh winsock reset

After running these commands, restart your computer.
    3. Update Network Adapter Drivers: Make sure that your network adapter drivers are up to date. You can do this through the Device Manager by right-clicking on the network adapter and selecting "Update driver."
    4. Check VPN Settings: If you are using a VPN, ensure that it is configured correctly. Sometimes, VPNs can interfere with internet connectivity. You may need to disconnect from the VPN to test your internet connection.
    5. Run Network Troubleshooter: Windows has a built-in network troubleshooter that can help diagnose and fix connectivity issues. You can access this by going to Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network troubleshooter.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to check for any specific settings related to your virtual network adapter or consult further documentation related to your VPN or network configuration.

    Greetings!

This is Tin, I'll do my best to help. This issue usually occurs when the Windows is trying to use a software-based adapted instead of the WiFi or Ethernet adapter.

May I know when did the issue start? Is there any changes made before you got this issue?

Please send the make and model of your device. (Please press Windows key + R and type msinfo32 and hit enter, look for system model)

Kindly check and follow the steps below:

    1. Please check your Network Adapter Press Windows key + R and type ncpa.cpl then Enter. Please look for the real adapter, Wifi and Ethernet, if you only see the Virtual Adapter or VPN Adapted, please right click on it and choose Disable. Please make sure that the WiFi and Ethernet has been enabled.
    2. Please try to reset the Network Settings Please press Windows key + I to open Settings, click Network & Internet then Advanced network Settings, please scroll down and click Network Reset. Restart your computer and check if the issue persists.
    3. Please click start menu and type Command Prompt Kindly right click on it Please select run as administrator Please copy and paste the command below and hit enter. netsh winsock reset netsh interface ipv4 reset netsh interface ipv6 reset netsh winsock reset catalog netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log ipconfig /release ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /renew
    4. Please wait for it to finish, restart your device and check if the issue still persists. Please let me know how it goes. Thanks, Tin
