To turn on optional diagnostic data on Windows 10 Home Edition, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > Privacy > Diagnostics & feedback.
- Check the Optional Diagnostic Data switch. If it's flipped to On, you're ready to go. If it's set to Off, flip it to On and reboot your device.
- After enabling it, ensure you check for the latest updates by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
This will allow your device to send optional diagnostic data to Microsoft, which is necessary for running Windows Insider Preview Builds and for troubleshooting issues.
