To format multiple tables in a document the same way, you can use the following approach:

    1. Select One Table: Format one of the tables as desired, adjusting styles such as borders, shading, and text alignment.
    2. Copy the Table Format: Instead of using the Format Painter, you can copy the formatted table and then paste it into the other tables. This will maintain the formatting.
    3. Adjust as Necessary: After pasting, you may need to adjust specific content within each table to ensure it fits well with the new format.

Unfortunately, the Format Painter may not work effectively across different tables, so copying and pasting the formatted table is a more reliable method.

    Hi @Hayes, Jodi (KCSO TSD/CRU)

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum and thank you for reaching out to us.

To better assist you, could you share what specific changes you’re looking for? For example:

    • Do you want to make all tables match a certain built-in style?
    • Are you trying to adjust borders, shading, fonts, or alignment?
    • Or is it about column widths and spacing?

If possible, please share a screenshot of one table that shows the formatting you’d like to apply. That will help us suggest the quickest solution.

In the meaning time, please try to do the following steps:

    Option 1: Apply a built-in table style

    • Click inside a table.
    • Go to Table Design (appears when the table is selected).
    • Choose a style from the Table Styles gallery.
    • Repeat for each table.  User's image

Option 2: Create and apply a custom table style

    • Format one table exactly how you want it (borders, shading, fonts, alignment).
    • Go to Table Design → Click More (the narrow icon) → Select New Table Style.

    • Name your style and click OK.
    • Select each table and apply your custom style from the gallery.
