Hello,

I have just realized I have been getting charged sales tax for all my Microsoft products for the past three years since I have moved to Montana and updated my address. I never removed my original address and it defaulted payment to the old address. Is there a possibility of a refund?

Best,

Merrill

To address the issue of being charged sales tax due to an outdated address, you will need to contact Microsoft support directly. According to the information available, Microsoft does not regenerate past invoices to update sold-to information due to tax implications, which means that they typically do not issue refunds for taxes charged based on the old address. However, reaching out to customer support may provide you with specific guidance or options available for your situation.

It's also important to ensure that your billing information is updated correctly to avoid similar issues in the future.

Most likely, you will not be able to get a refund for past years, you may be able to get a refund for the latest payment, this Forum is just a user to user forum, no-one here has any account access, you will need to contact Microsoft Support directly, try using this method to contact their support.
