Location field in form connected to SharePoint List not Validating

Hey everyone,

When trying to fill out a location on a form I created from a SPO list the address doesn't auto validate. If I go complete the same field from the list view, there's no issues. In the form the search just hangs and does nothing.

I've spoken to a user who claim that this functionality worked before, but I can't verify. Any input? I have attached an image of what it looks like in the form vs. the list entry for reference.

    Hi @DeanNeedsAnswers,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you very much for your detailed explanation and for bringing this to our attention. Your observations were extremely helpful and allowed us to validate the behavior accurately.

I have tested this in my own environment and encountered the same behavior. Even after explicitly allowing location permissions in the browser, the Location field in the SharePoint List form continues to hang and does not auto-validate the address. Notably, the same field works correctly when edited directly from the list view, which further supports your findings and indicates this is not related to browser permissions or user-side configuration.

Based on our testing, this appears to be behavior specific to Microsoft Lists forms and may require investigation at the service level.

To proceed, I kindly recommend reaching out to your organization’s IT administrator and asking them to raise a support ticket with Microsoft Support. Once the ticket is created, a technical support engineer will be able to initiate a secure remote session, review backend configurations, run diagnostics, and escalate the case to specialized engineering teams if necessary. These teams are equipped to perform advanced troubleshooting and provide targeted solutions.

As moderators, our role is to offer guidance and general troubleshooting steps. Although we do not have access to administrative tools required for backend fixes, we truly appreciate your understanding of these limitations. We hope the information provided helps point you in the right direction, and we are always here to assist as much as possible within our scope.
