I keep my laptop lid closed as I use my monitor and keyboard along with it. I have set the settings to do not do anything when lid is closed.

I do want to be able to still have my laptop go to standby / sleep mode after 5 min of inactivity. How do I accomplish that?

To have your laptop go to sleep after a certain period of inactivity while keeping the lid closed, you can configure the sleep settings in Windows. Since you have already set the action for the lid closing to "Do Nothing," you can follow these steps to set the sleep timeout:

    1. Open Settings: Go to the Start menu and select Settings.
    2. Navigate to System: Click on System and then select Power & sleep from the left sidebar.
    3. Set Sleep Time: Under the Sleep section, you can set the time for when your laptop should go to sleep after inactivity. Set it to 5 minutes or your desired duration.

This way, even with the lid closed, your laptop will enter sleep mode after 5 minutes of inactivity, allowing you to continue using your monitor and keyboard without interruption.

Hi! Press Windows + R > Type control powercfg.cpl > In the selected plan, click Change plan settings > Under Put the computer to sleep, enter the desired time. You can explore other functions in Change advanced power settings.
