Dear Gill Kemmis, Casia, Lianny Montanez,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Based on your description, you’re unable to transfer Microsoft Authenticator from your old phone to your new one. I understand how stressful this situation can be - especially when it affects your ability to sign in - and I’m sorry you’re experiencing this inconvenience.
Since your account is an organizational (work or school) account, rather than a personal Microsoft account, the quickest resolution is to contact your IT administrator or a Global Administrator for your Microsoft tenant. They can revoke your existing MFA registration and help you re-register Microsoft Authenticator on your new device by following the steps below:
- Sign in to entra.microsoft.com using the Global Administrator account
- Go to Identity > Users > All users
- Select the affected account > Authentication methods
- Reset MFA for the user (Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication)
-
Note: Resetting MFA will sign the user out of all sessions and require MFA to be set up again.
Please let me know if you need help explaining this process to your IT administrator or if you have any additional questions.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
