Hello Angela Scott,
Thank you for reaching out in Microsoft Q&A forum.
I understand how frustrating it is to be prompted to upgrade Office on your Mac when there doesn’t seem to be a way to proceed.
This message usually appears when the installed Office version is outdated, incompatible with your macOS, or signed in with a Microsoft account that does not own the subscription:
- Make sure you are signed in to the Microsoft account that owns your subscription at https://account.microsoft.com/services
- Completely remove the existing Office apps from your Mac
- Download and install the latest version of Microsoft 365 for Mac directly from https://setup.office.com/
- After reinstalling, open an app (Word or Excel) and sign in when prompted. The upgrade message should no longer appear.
Or visit this link then follow instructions: Download, install, or reinstall Microsoft 365 or Office 2024 on a PC or Mac
Let me know how it goes.
