    Hello Angela Scott,

Thank you for reaching out in Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how frustrating it is to be prompted to upgrade Office on your Mac when there doesn’t seem to be a way to proceed.

This message usually appears when the installed Office version is outdated, incompatible with your macOS, or signed in with a Microsoft account that does not own the subscription:

    1. Make sure you are signed in to the Microsoft account that owns your subscription at https://account.microsoft.com/services
    2. Completely remove the existing Office apps from your Mac
    3. Download and install the latest version of Microsoft 365 for Mac directly from https://setup.office.com/
    4. After reinstalling, open an app (Word or Excel) and sign in when prompted. The upgrade message should no longer appear.

Or visit this link then follow instructions: Download, install, or reinstall Microsoft 365 or Office 2024 on a PC or Mac

Let me know how it goes.

To address the issue of upgrading your Microsoft package on your MacBook Air, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Check for Updates: Ensure that your Microsoft 365 apps are updated to the latest version. You can do this by opening any Office app, going to the Help menu, and selecting Check for Updates.
    2. Sign Out and Sign Back In: Sometimes, signing out of your Microsoft account and signing back in can resolve upgrade issues. Open an Office app, go to your account settings, sign out, and then sign back in.
    3. Remove License Files: If the issue persists, you may need to remove existing Office license files. Follow the instructions in the article on how to remove Office license files on a Mac.
    4. Reinstall Office: If none of the above steps work, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling Office on your Mac. You can find instructions for uninstalling Office for Mac in the Microsoft support documentation.
    5. Contact Support: If you continue to experience issues, it may be helpful to contact Microsoft support for further assistance.

These steps should help you resolve the upgrade issue with your Microsoft package on your MacBook Air.
