Problems upgrading a microsoft account on a Macbook Air

I have a microsoft package on my Macbook Air. It says it needs to be upgraded by there is no way it will allow me to do this. Help please.

This message usually appears when the installed Office version is outdated, incompatible with your macOS, or signed in with a Microsoft account that does not own the subscription:

1. Make sure you are signed in to the Microsoft account that owns your subscription at https://account.microsoft.com/services
2. Completely remove the existing Office apps from your Mac
3. Download and install the latest version of Microsoft 365 for Mac directly from https://setup.office.com/
4. After reinstalling, open an app (Word or Excel) and sign in when prompted. The upgrade message should no longer appear.
