I have external hard drive that's is not detected. It is not making any unexpected noise and the light on the external hard drive is on. The lead works with other external hard drives with the same port. The pc makes connection sound when plugging into my pc but does not display. Also unable to access Windows Powershell. I am on an updated version of Windows 11.

    Hi,

Thank you for reaching out. And sorry about the issue you are experiencing. Were you able to try it on a different PC? But in the meantime you can also try these.

Right-click the Start button and open Disk Management, then look for a disk labeled Removable or one that matches your drive’s size. If you see it but there’s no letter, right-click the partition, choose Change Drive Letter and Paths, and add one. If it shows as Unallocated, you’ll need to create a New Simple Volume (just note the process erases data). If it says "Not Initialized," right-click the disk name and select "Initialize Disk" to make it usable.

Hope that this helps, and hope to hear from you.

    Thank you,
