My Camera isn't working. How can I turn it on? It had been working and all of a sudden it isn't working.

If you open the Camera app, what does it say? Any error message? Or is it just a black screen? Any additional information would be helpful if you don't mind.

Most camera issues can be due to a physical privacy cover covering the lens. Make sure that's not the case.

Otherwise there is usually a physical button/key/switch you can use to turn the camera on or off. For example, most Lenovo uses F8 or Fn+F8, or a switch above the lens, HP has a camera key or a button on the side of the laptop, MSI uses F6 or Fn+F6, etc.

If you are not sure, tell me what the camera app says/shows, and then please hold down Windows + R keys, type in msinfo32.exe and hit enter. Then share a screenshot of the System Information window. Thanks!

To turn on your camera, follow these steps:

    1. Check Camera Settings: Open the camera settings page by searching for Settings in Windows. Navigate to Bluetooth & devices > Cameras. Here, you can see if your camera is listed as connected.
    2. Enable the Camera: If your camera is listed but not working, it may be disabled. In the camera settings page, select your camera from the Connected cameras list and check if there is an option to Enable it.
    3. Power Supply: Ensure that the camera is powered on and properly connected. If it requires an external power supply, verify that it is connected.
    4. Troubleshoot: If the camera still does not work, select it from the Connected cameras list and choose the Troubleshoot option to access the Get Help utility for interactive troubleshooting.
    5. Check Connections: Ensure that the camera is securely connected to your device. If using USB, check that the cable is intact and meets the specifications required by the camera.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider checking for driver updates or contacting the manufacturer for further assistance.
