My laptops sound and audio just cut out and has had no sound since. I have updated all of the audio drivers as well as running troubleshooting software to find the issue. The device still has no audio, any ideas of what I should do.

If your laptop has no sound or audio, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Audio Services: Ensure that the Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder services are running. If they are not, you may encounter issues with audio playback.
    2. Device Manager: Open Device Manager and check if your audio device is listed without any issues. You can uninstall the device and then reconnect it to allow Windows to reinstall the driver. Make sure not to select "Delete the driver software for this device" during the uninstallation.
    3. Try Different USB Ports: If you are using an external USB audio device, try connecting it to a different USB port. Sometimes, the issue may be related to the specific port being used.
    4. Install Device-Specific Driver: If you haven't already, install the device-specific driver before connecting the device. This can prevent conflicts with the default USB audio driver.
    5. Check Sound Settings: Open the sound control panel (type mmsys.cpl in the command prompt) and ensure that the correct playback device is set as default. Also, verify that all devices are connected and capable of streaming audio.
    6. Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches that affect audio playback.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider checking for any hardware problems or consulting further resources for troubleshooting audio issues.

    Hii ,

Does the sound icon have a soft or red x?

If it is a laptop or desktop, if possible, could you provide the laptop model or your desktop configuration?

    Thanks
