    Hello @vaishnavi patil

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Community!

Thank you for reaching out regarding porting phone numbers from your current Microsoft tenant to a new tenant, both using Microsoft Calling Plans.

As Microsoft Q&A has given you the duration you need for the process to be completed, I'll provide you with more details on it as follows:

    • KYC Validation: Before submitting a port order, Microsoft requires a Know Your Customer (KYC) verification. This is a one-time process and typically takes a few hours up to 2 business days.
    • Port Order Processing: Once KYC is complete and the port order is submitted, Microsoft generally processes the request within 7–14 days. In some cases, depending on the losing carrier’s responsiveness and order complexity, it may take up to 30 days.  undefined
    • Carrier Release: The timeline also depends on how quickly your current carrier releases the numbers, which can affect the overall duration.

Therefore, the estimated total duration for the whole process is 2–6 weeks from start to finish, including KYC and carrier coordination.

The time taken for porting numbers from one tenant to another in Microsoft Teams can vary. After submitting your port order request, it typically takes between 7 to 14 days to process, start to finish. Depending on your current service provider, it might take up to 30 days. Additionally, for requests involving more than 200 phone numbers, you should expect additional processing time. It's also important to note that you cannot choose a target porting date that is further than 30 calendar days out.
