Hi! You must have linked your Microsoft Account to Windows. When you do this, Windows asks you to set a PIN.

    • You can use the PIN you created to unlock your computer, or you can use the same password as your email.
    • Click on Sign-in options > Key icon for Password, and Number keypad icon for PIN.

If you want to remove your password, you must remove your account from Windows.

    1. Open Settings > Accounts > Your Info > Sign in to a Local Account > Leave the password field blank > Proceed.
    2. You can see in Sign-in options > Password > if you can remove the password.

If your Windows 10 computer is asking for a password after a power outage and you have never set a password, there are a few steps you can try to regain access:

    1. Check for Default Passwords: Sometimes, computers may have a default password set by the manufacturer. Try common passwords like admin, 1234, or leave the password field blank.
    2. Use Safe Mode: Restart your computer and repeatedly press the F8 key as it boots up. This should bring up the Advanced Boot Options menu. From there, select Safe Mode. If you can log in to Safe Mode, you may be able to create a new user account or reset the password.
    3. Password Reset Disk: If you had previously created a password reset disk, you can use it to reset your password. Insert the disk and follow the prompts.
    4. Accessing the Built-in Administrator Account: If the built-in administrator account is enabled, you might be able to access it. Restart your computer and press F8 to access the Advanced Boot Options, then select Safe Mode with Command Prompt. If you can log in as the administrator, you can reset your user account password.
    5. Reinstall Windows: As a last resort, if none of the above methods work, you may need to reinstall Windows. This will erase all data on your computer, so it should only be done if absolutely necessary.

If you are not comfortable performing these steps, it may be helpful to seek assistance from a friend or a local technician who can help you out.
