Charged full price for both Personal and Family

On Nov. 7, 2024 I renewed my 365 personal account. My Daughter just purchased a new Macbook recently and her free trial of 365 ran out. She needs it for school, so I upgraded to 365 family, so she would be able to use it on her laptop too. It's only been 2 months and a week since I paid the $108.24 for the 365 personal, but today I was charged $140.71 for the 365 family. Why is the charge not being adjusted since I already paid $108.24 2 months and a week ago? That is ridiculous that I'm having to pay the FULL price for the 365 Personal for only 2 months and a week and now having to pay the full price for the 365 Family too. One of them needs to be adjusted. What is going on with the charges and how does it get fixed?

When you upgrade from a Microsoft 365 Personal subscription to a Family subscription, the charges may not automatically adjust for the time remaining on your Personal subscription. Typically, when you make such a change, you are charged the full price for the new subscription, and any adjustments for the previous subscription may not be reflected immediately. This can happen because the billing system treats the upgrade as a new purchase rather than a continuation of the existing subscription.

To resolve this issue, you should contact Microsoft 365 Support for assistance. They can provide specific details about your billing situation and help you understand if any adjustments can be made for the unused portion of your Personal subscription.
