Bluetooth disappeared totally.

My mouse stopped working. My battery was fine, and I tried to check the Bluetooth settings, but everything was gone. I found it in the device manager after making it unhidden, checked the main driver, tried to update it, and it said it was up to date. I restarted, and nothing changed. Did all the normal tests, and nothing works

    Hi Roger Allan,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. I'm happy to help.

Since this is a public forum, we will hide your personal identifiable information, and I have sent that image of yours containing your personal identifiable information in a private message so we can work together to resolve the issue. Also, please check your private message in case you want to share another screenshot to avoid leaking your PII by click on the Private Message button right under your first post.

Your Bluetooth devices is hidden on Device Manager indicates that devices were disabled or disconnected.

    • Enable them to see if it works.
    • Check your BIOS if Bluetooth device was disabled.
    • Turn off your laptop then hold down the Power button for at least 10 seconds, your laptop will re-initiate devices and may recognize the Bluetooth device.

If above steps cannot help, then you probably have hardware damage. It could be the wireless card, Bluetooth chipset, or the connector both from wireless card and motherboard. Please send your laptop to Dell service center for further assistance.

I hope that above information is helpful to you.

If Bluetooth has disappeared from your system, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Bluetooth Settings: Go to Settings > Devices and ensure that Bluetooth is turned on. If it is off, toggle it back on.
    2. Device Manager: Since you mentioned finding Bluetooth in Device Manager, ensure that there are no warning signs (like a yellow triangle) next to the Bluetooth device. If there is, this could indicate a driver issue.
    3. Update Drivers: You mentioned that the driver is up to date. However, you can try uninstalling the Bluetooth driver from Device Manager and then restarting your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall the driver upon reboot.
    4. Bluetooth Troubleshooter: Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter by going to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Bluetooth.
    5. Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows is fully updated, as updates can sometimes resolve hardware issues.
    6. Hardware Issues: If the above steps do not work, there may be a hardware issue with the Bluetooth adapter. Check if the Bluetooth is enabled in BIOS settings if applicable.
    7. Recovery Options: If Bluetooth still does not appear, consider performing a system restore to a point when Bluetooth was functioning correctly.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to consult further support resources or consider hardware replacement if the Bluetooth adapter is faulty.
