Update KB5074109 has broken my ethernet - disconnects intermittently

I have a brand new Asus ROG Strix Scar - as of the latest update KB5074109, my ethernet disconnects every 10-20 seconds.

Nothing else has changed on my system. I went to sleep with a functional system, I woke up to a forced update, and now my machine is broken.

I have tried following all the typical steps available from an internet search. This is a problem with the hotfix. I cannot uninstall it, it isn't in the list to even be able to uninstall.

    Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    Please clarify the following:

    The ROG Strix Scar has several variants. Which variant do you have?

    If you prefer, you can share a screenshot of your system information.

    • Press "Windows + R", type msinfo32 and press Enter.

    Maximize the window and use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

    I await your reply.

    Thanks for the screenshot.

    I suggest reinstalling your network adapter driver as instructed below.

    Before starting the procedure, download the latest network driver from the Asus website.

    https://rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-strix/rog-strix-scar-16-2025/helpdesk_download/

    Driver name: Realtek LAN Driver

    Version: V1168.021.0903.2024

    Uninstall the current driver:

    1. Open "Device Manager" (Windows + X and select Device Manager);
    2. Expand "Network adapters";
    3. Right-click on the Realtek Ethernet adapter and select "Uninstall device";
    4. On the confirmation screen, check "Attempt to remove the driver for this device" and click "Uninstall";
    5. Restart the PC.

    Then, run the driver installer you downloaded and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.

    After reinstalling the driver as instructed, restart your PC and observe the adapter's behavior to see if the problem stops occurring.

    If the problem persists, please let me know.

    Feel free to ask back any questions.

    Asus released a new BIOS update and several other drivers via the MyAsus software which seems to have resolved the issue - for info of anyone else with same issue
