ADF generic error during copy activity from on prem .txt file to adls gen2

I am getting this pretty generic error during copy activy of .txt file from on prem file share to ADLS raw folder
not sure where to begin with this error

    Thanks for using Microsoft Q&A forum and posting your query.

    By looking at the error message, the issue seems to be a configuration related issue. Could you please confirm if you were able to test your both linked service test connections successful?

    The error message says useid cannot be null or empty, by this I suspect that your userName value is not passed to FileServer linked service.

    Just in case if you have parameterized your linked service, please try to test it by hardcoded value to make sure configuration is correct and once the test is successful, then you can try parameterizing the properties as needed and do a final test to make sure parameterization configuration is correct and all the parameter values are being passed correctly.
