I've renewed basic 365 subscription but can't access Office Tools other than email.

I renewed my basic subscription to 365 in October and still cannot access Office programs. It also seems impossible to actually reach a real person for help. I get messages that would possibly suggest that Microsoft is still linking me with a former subscription, associated with my employment from which I am now retired. I did not use that email to renew, but used my own personal email for the subscription. I have been billed (and have paid for) the new subscription. I would really appreciate speaking with an actual person who could help me with this problem.

    Hi,

Office will not activate unless the device is signed in only with the account that owns the subscription.

    What I suggest is:

Sign out everywhere and sign in only with your personal email:

Open Word → Account → Sign out

Windows Settings → Accounts → Access work or school → remove the old work account

Reopen Word → sign in with your personal email (the one you paid with)

    That usually fixes activation immediately.

About talking to a Microsoft support:

    Go here: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus Choose: Microsoft 365 → Billing → Subscription help → Chat/Call with a live agent

You can request a call from an actual support.

    I hope this helps!

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with accessing Office applications after renewing your Microsoft 365 subscription. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this:

    1. Check Subscription Status: Go to your Microsoft account page at account.live.com and verify that your subscription is active.
    2. Sign In with the Correct Account: Ensure you are signed into the Office applications with the same personal email that you used to renew your subscription. Sometimes, being signed in with a different account can cause access issues.
    3. Update License in Office Apps: Open any Office application (like Word or Excel), go to File > Account, and look for an option to update your license. Log in again if prompted.
    4. Contact Support: If you still cannot access the applications, you may need to contact Microsoft Support for further assistance. You can do this by visiting the support section on the Microsoft website and following the prompts to get in touch with a support agent.
    5. Consider Creating a New Account: If the issue persists and you can't reach support, you might consider creating a new Microsoft account to access the support services, as this can sometimes bypass account-related issues.

These steps should help you regain access to your Office tools.
