anyone using an internet hosted virtual gaming PC

I am reaching the end of life of my gaming laptop and wondering if anyone has researched or is using a Virtual Gaming PC.

I believe the technology is available and with a fast Internet connection it would be feasible to use older technology to access and use a virtual PC that had a Gaming or Image development spec provided the client system had good Screen and moderate GPU setup.

Anyone any ideas about this?
