I have Office 365 on my computer with the e-mail address of ******@ya.ru. Last year in December I stopped using my OneDrive and copied all my files so that they wouldn't be stored on OneDrive any more. I had no money on my card and the payment for my subscription didn't go.

The problem is that I forgot to cancel my subscription and later Miscrosoft changed me for OneDrive and 58.17 pounds were charged on December 20, 2025. My OneDrive is empty and I'm not going to use it any more as I've chosen another Cloud service. How can I get a refund? I followed some tips on the website which said to cancel the subcription. Now, my subcription is cancelled. Please, help me to get a refund. How do I resolve this issue?

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

Microsoft Q&A is public, and we can only provide information. It is beyond our capability to assist directly with billing-related concerns.

To get a refund for your Microsoft 365 subscription, you'll need to cancel it first, and then you may be eligible for a refund for the unused portion of your subscription:

    • Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services
    • Sign in with the Microsoft account you used for the subscription.
    • Look for your Microsoft 365 subscription and select "Manage".
    • Then choose "Cancel subscription" and follow the prompts.

Once it's canceled, you may see an option to request a refund, if you're eligible, it’ll appear there automatically.

To request a refund for your Microsoft Office subscription, you can follow these general steps:

    1. Check Your Eligibility for a Refund: Microsoft typically provides refunds for subscriptions canceled within a certain time frame after the charge. If you canceled your subscription and the charge was recent, you may be eligible for a refund.
    2. Sign in to Your Microsoft Account: Go to the Microsoft account page and sign in with the email address associated with your subscription.
    3. Navigate to Services & Subscriptions: Once signed in, go to the Services & subscriptions section to view your subscriptions and any recent charges.
    4. Contact Microsoft Support: If you believe you are eligible for a refund, you will need to contact Microsoft Support directly. You can do this through the support section of the Microsoft website. Explain your situation, including the details of the charge and your cancellation.
    5. Follow Up: After submitting your request, keep an eye on your email for any updates from Microsoft regarding your refund request.

Remember, the refund process may vary based on your specific billing account type and the timing of your cancellation, so it's important to provide as much detail as possible when contacting support.
