    Hello MengZhi

Why the VM isn’t showing in Azure Site Recovery

A VM will only appear in Azure Site Recovery if it meets all requirements. Common reasons it doesn’t show up include:

    • Unsupported region pair: North Europe → Korea Central isn’t supported for Azure-to-Azure recovery.
    • Unsupported VM configuration: Disk type, encryption, or other settings may not be compatible.
    • Different subscription or tenant: The VM and Recovery Services Vault must be in the same subscription and tenant.
    • Existing ASR protection: The VM may already be protected or partially configured.

Key takeaway: Since North Europe → Korea Central isn’t a supported region pair, the VM won’t appear for selection.

How to move a VM to Korea Central

    Option 1: Snapshot and Recreate

    • Stop (deallocate) the VM.
    • Take snapshots of OS and data disks.
    • Copy snapshots to Korea Central.
    • Create managed disks from snapshots.
    • Deploy a new VM using these disks.

    Option 2: Azure Resource Mover

    • Use Azure Resource Mover to migrate the VM and its dependencies.
    • Supports inter-region moves, including Korea Central.
    • Best for production workloads with multiple resources. Please dont forget to "Accept the Answer " If this was helpful
