Hi @jan paluch,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
I completely understand how important it is to stop your Microsoft 365 Family renewal and smoothly transition to Microsoft 365 Business Premium. While I can’t make account changes as a forum moderator, I’d be happy to guide you through the right steps and support channels:
1/ To get started, simply stop the renewal on your Microsoft 365 Family subscription:
To prevent another charge, turn off recurring billing for your Microsoft 365 Family subscription. You can do this by signing in at account.microsoft.com/services using the Microsoft account that originally purchased the plan. Then select Manage and choose Turn off recurring billing. More details are available in the article titled: Turn recurring billing on or off for a Microsoft subscription.
If the subscription was purchased through a third party, such as the Apple App Store, Google Play, or a retail store, cancellation must be completed directly with that seller. You can refer to: Manage your Microsoft 365 subscription purchased through a third party.
In case a recent renewal has already gone through, you will need to cancel first, then follow the prompts to check whether a refund is eligible. You can monitor any approved refund through your Order history. Please note that refund eligibility varies depending on the timing of the cancellation and the region. For more information, see: How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription and Check the status of your Microsoft Store return or refund.
2/ After that, you can choose and purchase Microsoft 365 Business Premium:
When you are ready, you can buy Microsoft 365 Business Premium directly from Microsoft or begin with a trial. This subscription uses or creates a work account, which is different from a personal Microsoft account, and provides business grade email, security features, and device management tools. You can refer to: Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Try or buy a Microsoft 365 for business subscription.
After your purchase, go to the Microsoft 365 admin center to assign the Business Premium license to yourself and to any colleagues if needed. Guidance is available in: Assign or unassign licenses for users in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
3/ Then, sign out of your Family subscription account and sign in using your work account:
On macOS, open any Office application, such as Word. Sign out from your existing account and then sign in with your new work account to activate the Business Premium applications on your device.
This step is essential because personal and work accounts are designed to function separately. You can refer to: Sign out of Office / What's the difference between a Microsoft account and a work or school account?.
4/ Finally, choose the appropriate support channel:
- For cancellation or refund questions regarding your Family subscription, contact Microsoft’s consumer support . If the purchase was made through Apple or a retailer, you will need to reach out to their support team.
- For business related setup or billing questions regarding your Business Premium subscription, an administrator can open Help & support in the Microsoft 365 admin center or use global support numbers. You can refer to: Contact Microsoft Office Support.
I hope this helps you move forward smoothly. If you have more questions or need further clarification, feel free to leave a comment here and I’ll be happy to continue supporting you.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, and I look forward to assisting you further.
