My son’s account was blocked while traveling. His back up email is not an option as it was also blocked. I have filled out the forms with him to reactivate the account and even with Xbox system codes, security codes and alternate emails to send activation codes to, it stays locked as we are told there is not enough information. Please help me help him get his account back as it has limited all other accounts that are dependent on this email address

    Dear Ashley K

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Community. I understand you are having problem with unlocking a blocked Microsoft account when recovery attempts with backup email and codes have not worked. I am happy to assist you. Please follow these steps:

    • Retry the Microsoft Account Recovery Form with more detailed information
    • Use the Microsoft Account Recovery Form
    • Include details not previously submitted such as:
      • Exact subject lines of recent emails.
      • Folder names created in Outlook.
      • Billing/payment information tied to Microsoft services.
      • Xbox console ID or Gamertag if linked.

You can submit the form up to twice per day if rejected.

    • Attempt sign-in from a trusted device or Authenticator app

If the account was accessed on a PC, phone, or Xbox before, try signing in from that same device. If Microsoft Authenticator was set up, approve sign-in requests there even if backup email is blocked. Please also provide an alternate phone number for security code delivery.

    • Escalate Microsoft Support directly
    • Visit Contact - Microsoft Support
    • Type a brief description of your issue in the search box
    • Scroll down to the bottom > select Sign in to contact support
    • Log in to another available personal Microsoft account.
    • Under Products & Services, select "Other Products"; Under Categories, select "Manage account security", and click Confirm.
    • Click "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" (during business hours)
