hi,

I am trying to load to my USB drive. It is in NTFS but Windows does not recognize it. I press ESC, so that it will load. It does not recognize my drive. How can I get Windows to recognize it?

Is that a USB flash drive or external hard drive, and is this problem only occurring with one USB drive.

    2

Connect the USB to your PC.

Right click your Start Button and open Disk Management.

Expand the bottom pane so all drives and partitions are visible in that pane.

Please provide a screenshot of that Disk Management window.

If Windows does not recognize your USB drive formatted in NTFS, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Device Manager: Open Device Manager and look for any devices with an exclamation mark or other issues. If you find any, try uninstalling the device and then scanning for hardware changes.
    2. Try Different USB Ports: Sometimes, USB ports can have issues. Try plugging the USB drive into a different port on your computer.
    3. Use Disk Management: Open Disk Management to see if the USB drive appears there. If it does, you may need to assign a drive letter or format it if it shows as unallocated or RAW.
    4. Check for I/O Device Errors: If you receive an error message indicating an I/O device error, it may be beneficial to wait a few moments after resuming from suspend before accessing the USB drive, as this can sometimes resolve the issue.
    5. Test on Another Computer: If possible, test the USB drive on another computer to determine if the issue is with the drive itself or your current system.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider checking for updates or drivers for your USB controller, as outdated drivers can sometimes cause recognition problems.
