Link to Windows - Continue button does nothing

I was recently forced to change my microsoft password, and could not get Link to windows to work after. I could not find any way to update the password in the app. I removed the devices, thinking that re-adding them would fix the problem. But now, I cannot get past the first stage of setup. When I open Link to Windows, it shows my account name. When I click continue, the "switch account" link blinks, but then nothing else happens.

I tried clicking "switch account" and just signing in to my account over again, but still no response from the "continue" button. I found a similar issue on the forum here, and I tried the steps recommended, but most of the things it said to delete did not exist for me, and the few that did still did nothing to fix it.

It seems like you're experiencing issues with the Link to Windows app after changing your Microsoft password. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Check for Updates: Ensure that both your Windows operating system and the Link to Windows app are updated to the latest versions. Sometimes, bugs are fixed in newer updates.
    2. Reboot Your Devices: Restart both your PC and your phone. This can help clear temporary glitches that might be causing the issue.
    3. Clear App Cache: If possible, clear the cache of the Link to Windows app on your phone. This can sometimes resolve issues related to app performance.
    4. Reinstall the App: Uninstall the Link to Windows app from your phone and then reinstall it. This can help reset any settings that might be causing the issue.
    5. Check Account Permissions: Make sure that your Microsoft account has the necessary permissions to connect devices. You can check this in your Microsoft account settings.
    6. Use Alternative Sign-In Methods: If you have multiple sign-in options (like email or phone number), try using a different method to log in.

If none of these steps work, you might want to check the Microsoft support forums for any similar issues or additional troubleshooting steps.
