I purchased Windows Office 2024 Standard on Groupon and have the product key number, but when I attempt to redeem it, I can't get past the error message stating (Service Unavailable) Is there a workaround? Looks like many have been experiencing the same issue.
Getting a screen that says Service Unavailable when trying to install office
I am trying to install Office on my laptop computer. I previously had an education edition on it from college. I enter the pass code and hit install and I get a screen that say "Service Unavailable try back later" I have tried several times to and keep getting that message. What do I need to do?

I have a key code but when I try to install with that key, I get the message "Service Unavailable. we are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later." I have been trying for a week. A little while ago, when I tried to use PowerPoint to work on a presentation for my classroom, it asked me to create or sign into my account. It hasn't done that previously.
You can't reuse a product key. You can try installing from your associated account, but since you have graduated, you probably can't access that account anymore.
In addition, there is another complication, because Office Professional 2024 is an organization license; it is not licensed for "ordinary" consumers—that is, the product is not for home use.

Learn moreIf you are receiving a "Service Unavailable" message while trying to install Office, it may indicate a temporary issue with the Microsoft servers or a problem with the installation process. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
- Check Server Status: Sometimes, Microsoft services may be down for maintenance or experiencing issues. You can check the status of Microsoft services to see if there are any known outages.
- Try Again Later: Since the message suggests trying back later, it might be worth waiting a bit and attempting the installation again after some time.
- Use the Correct Product Key: Ensure that you are entering the correct product key associated with your education edition. If the key is not valid or has already been used, it may cause issues.
- Clear Browser Cache: If you are using a web browser to enter the product key, try clearing your browser's cache or using a different browser to see if that resolves the issue.
- Contact Support: If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for assistance. They can provide more specific guidance based on your account and situation.
- Check for Licensing Issues: If you previously had an education edition, ensure that your license is still valid and has not expired. You may need to contact your educational institution for more information on your license status.
If you continue to experience issues, following up with Microsoft support would be the best course of action.
