As a small business co-owner, I join the 14 Countries that look forward to stepping away from Microsoft & its devil child - Windows 11. I am using a co-owner's email to sign in to this communication because I cannot sign in to my own address. You require a PIN, but error msg reads "Sorry! Server is cannot be reached;" you require a puzzle completion of ridiculous shadow matching but the puzzle is inoperable thus preventing access to my account. Your support teams have very limited assistance abilities - if they can be reached.

After review by my Staff of every document & demand required by Microsoft to use their software - Microsoft has truly crossed the line with its invasive, inoperable demands. I have now spent one hour playing the verification game matching puzzles & inputting endless personal & work data all in the name of security - when your documents clearly state that the data collected will go to the U.S. & other countries. This is not safety & security - this is power. For what purpose? Does it cause a breach of confidentiality? Thankfully their are now available options that will only improve with time.

It seems you are experiencing significant frustration with Microsoft's verification process and account access issues. Unfortunately, I cannot address the broader concerns regarding Microsoft as a company or its impact on the world. However, I can provide some guidance on the specific issues you mentioned regarding account access and support.

If you are having trouble signing in due to a PIN requirement and encountering server errors, it may be beneficial to try the following steps:

    1. Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your internet connection is stable and working properly.
    2. Clear Browser Cache: Sometimes, clearing your browser's cache can resolve loading issues.
    3. Try Different Browsers or Devices: If possible, attempt to sign in using a different web browser or device to see if the issue persists.
    4. Contact Support: If these steps do not resolve the issue, contacting Microsoft support directly may be necessary. They can provide assistance specific to your account and the issues you are facing.

As for the concerns about data privacy and security, Microsoft does outline how data is handled and the access that administrators have to certain account information. If you have specific questions about data security, you may want to review Microsoft's privacy policy or reach out to their support for clarification.

    Hello Richard Hymes Jr,

From a technical standpoint, the issue you are facing is not related to Windows 11 itself but to Microsoft account sign‑in security mechanisms. The error “Sorry! Server cannot be reached” during PIN entry indicates that the Windows Hello PIN authentication service cannot contact the Microsoft identity servers. This can be caused by transient connectivity problems, corrupted local credential cache, or misconfigured identity verification settings. The shadow‑matching puzzle you mention is part of Microsoft’s CAPTCHA system, designed to prevent automated sign‑in attempts. If the CAPTCHA is failing to render or operate correctly, it usually points to browser compatibility issues, cached scripts, or regional service interruptions.

To regain access, the most direct technical path is to bypass the PIN and CAPTCHA by using an alternate sign‑in method. On the login screen, select Sign‑in options and choose password authentication instead of PIN. If that still fails, you can clear the local PIN configuration by deleting the contents of %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\NGC (this requires administrative rights). After reboot, Windows will prompt you to set up the PIN again. This forces a fresh handshake with Microsoft’s identity servers.

If the CAPTCHA puzzle remains inoperable, try signing in through a different browser or device. Microsoft’s CAPTCHA relies on JavaScript and may fail if scripts are blocked or corrupted in cache. Using InPrivate mode or clearing browser cache often resolves this. If the problem persists across devices, it indicates a regional service issue, in which case you must escalate through Microsoft 365 or Azure AD support channels with your tenant ID and affected account details.

Regarding your concern about data handling, Microsoft’s identity verification and MFA systems are governed by the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Data is processed in compliance with GDPR and other regional regulations, but it is true that authentication telemetry may be routed through servers in the U.S. and other countries. This is documented and not considered a breach of confidentiality, but if your business requires strict data residency, you should evaluate Microsoft 365 tenants with regional data boundaries or consider hybrid identity solutions where authentication is federated through your own infrastructure.

I hope you've found something useful here. If it helps you get more insight into the issue, it's appreciated to accept the answer. Should you have more questions, feel free to leave a message. Have a nice day!
