Hi,

I created an outlook email to separate business/personal emails. I had to reset my laptop settings and lost the automatic log on. I cannot provide enough info on emails sent etc to pass the online stage, so I am stuck! Is there another way reset/recover the password without this info, I know there are bills to pay in my inbox,

Thanks.

Since you didn't specify your account type, I will provide solution based on the tag of your initial post. If you're using a personal account (@hotmail, @gmail, @outlook.com...) please let me know so that I can provide guidance with more accuracy.

    Hi @Ciaran O'Kane,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum and I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble logging into your Microsoft account.

Since you're using a work or school account, in order to reset your password and sign in back to your account, you should contact your company administrator and ask for their help. These settings are managed directly by your company administrators and as forum moderators, we do not have access to or control accounts. This includes actions such as logging in, resetting passwords, or changing account permissions.

Specifically ask them to “Reset my password". This is a standard request, and your organization's IT team should be able to assist you with it. They can easily reset it via Admin Center > Active users > Select your account > Reset password

Once your organization's admin has reset your password, the next time you log in to your account, you will be guided through the process of setting up the new password.

Please note that forum moderators do not have access to user account settings and cannot assist with logging in, resetting passwords, or changing access rights. While we do not have access to internal systems or administrative tools required to resolve account-specific or backend-related issues, but we’ll continue doing our best to support you within the scope of our responsibilities.

I hope this helps you regain access to your account quickly. I'm glad to assist and truly hope the information provided has been useful. Please feel free to reach out anytime if you need further assistance.
