If your Microsoft email account has been hacked and information has been changed, here are some steps you can take to regain control and secure your account:

    1. Reset Your Password: Immediately change your password to something strong and unique. Ensure that you do not reuse passwords from other accounts.
    2. Check for Suspicious Activity: Look for any unauthorized changes in your account settings, such as email forwarding rules or recovery options. If you see any suspicious activity, revert those changes if possible.
    3. Enable Multifactor Authentication (MFA): If you haven't already, enable MFA for your account. This adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second form of verification when logging in.
    4. Review Account Recovery Options: Make sure your recovery email and phone number are correct. If they have been changed, try to restore them to your original settings.
    5. Scan for Malware: Run a full scan on your device to check for any malware or viruses that might have compromised your account.
    6. Revoke Access to Suspicious Applications: If you have granted access to third-party applications, review and revoke access to any that seem suspicious.
    7. Contact Microsoft Support: If you are unable to regain access or if your account has been severely compromised, contact Microsoft Support for further assistance.
    8. Monitor Your Account: Keep an eye on your account for any further suspicious activity and consider changing passwords for other accounts that may be linked to your Microsoft email.

Following these steps can help you secure your account and prevent further unauthorized access.
