If Outlook is not saving the server settings after your ISP has changed, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check Account Settings: Ensure that you are entering the correct server settings provided by your ISP. This includes the incoming and outgoing mail server addresses, port numbers, and any security settings (SSL/TLS).
    2. Create a New Profile: Sometimes, creating a new Outlook profile can resolve issues with saving settings. You can do this by going to the Control Panel, selecting Mail, and then creating a new profile.
    3. Run Outlook as Administrator: Right-click on the Outlook icon and select "Run as administrator". This can sometimes help with permission issues that prevent settings from being saved.
    4. Repair Outlook: You can also try repairing your Outlook installation. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, select Microsoft Office, and then choose the Repair option.
    5. Check for Updates: Ensure that your Outlook client is up to date. Sometimes, updates can fix bugs that may be causing issues with saving settings.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to consult your ISP for the correct settings or further assistance.

    Hello,

The existing account configuration in Outlook is likely struggling to authenticate with the new servers, and editing it directly can sometimes fail.

Before anything, I need to know if you are using POP or IMAP. If the account is set up as POP, deleting it from Outlook will delete your old emails stored on the computer, so we need to check that first.

Also, when you say it will not save, does it give you a specific error code or message, or does the button simply not react?

Another way to try and save server settings is using the Control Panel Mail app. You might have better luck that using Outlook File -> Account Settings. Close Outlook first.

I use IMAP and wound up deleting and recreating email profile. This solved it. Thanks for all your responses.
