Hello Zoey Walker!
Welcome to the Q&A forum.
I understand you couldn't exist S mode due to "being a part of an organization..." message even though you're a private user. Below are the steps you can try:
1. Update Windows
Open Settings
Go to Update & Security (or Windows Update in Windows 11)
Select Check for updates
Install all available updates and restart your PC
2. Remove any Work/School Account
Note: Removing accounts here only disconnects them from Windows management. It does not remove them from apps like Outlook or Teams. Make sure all organization accounts are removed to avoid automatic restrictions.
Steps:
Open Settings
Go to Accounts > Access work or school
- If you see any work/school account listed, select it > Disconnect
After removing any organization accounts, ensure you are logged into Windows with a personal Microsoft account that has administrator rights.
3. Switch Out of S Mode via Microsoft Store
Go to this article and press on Switch out of S mode button to complete the process.
Note: Switching out of S mode is one-way. If you make the switch, you won't be able to go back to Windows 10 or Windows 11 in S mode.
