Every time my son accessing any Microsoft product he has to get consent. Even though on his profile his birthdate is correct and he is 16, Microsoft seems to think he is 13.

Thanks,

    Hi Mark,

For Microsoft accounts, 18 is considered the adult age in most regions, which means accounts under 18 are treated as child accounts and remain subject to parental controls and consent requirements. At age 16, your son is still classified as a minor, even if his birthdate is correct.

This is why Microsoft continues to request parental consent codes when he signs in or accesses Microsoft services. To reduce or stop these prompts, sign in to family.microsoft.com with the parent/organizer account, select your son’s profile, and review the Privacy, App, and Content settings. You can disable “Ask a parent” prompts, turn off activity reporting, and allow unrestricted access where appropriate

To stop requiring parental consent for your son's Microsoft account, you will need to ensure that his account is set up correctly. Since you mentioned that his birthdate is correct and he is 16, it is possible that the account settings or parental consent requirements are still in effect due to age restrictions.

Here are some steps you can take:

    1. Check Account Age Settings: Make sure that the account is recognized as being for an adult. If the account is still categorized as a minor, it may continue to require parental consent.
    2. Remove Parental Consent: You can remove the parental consent by visiting the Microsoft account management page for families. This can be done at account.live.com/mykids.aspx. However, be aware that if the account is set for a child under 16, restrictions may still apply.
    3. Verify Age: If the system still treats him as a minor, you may need to verify his age through the appropriate channels to ensure he is classified correctly.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to contact Microsoft support for further assistance.
