YES, ive restarted xbox, i even updated it. I have even restarted my computer but my old nametag still shows up. Is it a problem with my nametag or does it take too much time to load the new nametag into minecraft?

    Hi Cupipi,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Just as a quick clarification: when you play Bedrock while signed in with a Microsoft account, the in‑game name is tied to the gamertag on your Xbox/Microsoft profile. Sometimes, the game continues to display an older, cached profile until the sign‑in session refreshes.

Here are some steps that you can try to force a refresh:

1 - Confirm the new gamertag shows on your Xbox/Microsoft profile (outside of Minecraft).

2 - Sign out of your Microsoft account inside Minecraft, fully close the game, then sign back in:

    • In Minecraft: Settings > Account > Sign out, then sign in again.
    • On Windows 11, sign out of the Xbox app (and Microsoft Store if you use it for Minecraft), restart the PC, then sign back in with the same Microsoft account.

3 - If it still shows the old name, reset the Minecraft app on Windows:

    • Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Minecraft > Advanced options > Reset, then launch and sign in again.

Here are some official references that you might need:

If your new gamertag is not reflecting in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition after you've changed it, there are a few things to consider:

    1. Propagation Time: Sometimes, changes to your gamertag can take a little time to propagate across all services and games. While it usually updates quickly, it may not be instantaneous in all cases.
    2. Game Cache: The game might be displaying cached data. Even after restarting your Xbox and computer, it may still show the old gamertag due to caching. Make sure to clear any game cache if possible.
    3. Profile Sync: Ensure that your Xbox profile is correctly syncing with the game. If there are issues with your Xbox Live account, it may affect how your gamertag is displayed in games.
    4. Check Other Titles: Try checking if your new gamertag appears in other Xbox titles. If it does, the issue may be specific to Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.

If the problem persists after some time, you may want to reach out to Xbox support for further assistance.
