If your laptop's microphone is not taking any input sounds, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check Device Settings: Ensure that the microphone is enabled in your device settings. Go to Settings > System > Sound and check if the microphone is set as the default device.
    2. Device Manager: Open Device Manager and check if there are any issues with the microphone driver. You can do this by right-clicking on the Start button, selecting Device Manager, and looking for your microphone under "Audio inputs and outputs". If there is a yellow exclamation mark, there may be a driver issue.
    3. Update Drivers: If the drivers are outdated, you may need to update them. Right-click on the microphone in Device Manager and select "Update driver".
    4. Check for Hardware Issues: Make sure there are no physical issues with the microphone itself. If it's an external microphone, try using it on another device to see if it works there.
    5. Test with Different Applications: Sometimes, the issue may be with the specific application you are using. Try recording sound with a different application to see if the problem persists.
    6. Microphone Permissions: Ensure that the application you are using has permission to access the microphone. You can check this in the privacy settings of your operating system.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to consider reinstalling the microphone drivers or checking for any system updates that may address the problem.
