I had a license for Microsoft 365 and suddenly it says my app is view only. So I bought a new subscription but I am not able to activate it. When I activate it, it gives me the following error. I am not sure what login to use. When I look at the license section that says Belongs To, it has an email I don't recall since the license was bought a while back. How do I update (either logout of this account and login with a new account with the new license key? Help appreciated.

To resolve the activation issue with Microsoft 365, you can follow these steps:

    1. Sign Out and Sign Back In: Open a Microsoft 365 app (like Word), click on your name or profile picture at the top, and select Sign out. Then, sign back in using the account associated with your new subscription. Ensure you are using the correct Work or School account, not a personal Microsoft account.
    2. Check License Assignment: If you have access to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, verify that the new subscription is assigned to your account. Go to Users > Active users, select your user profile, and check the Licenses and apps section to ensure the new license is assigned.
    3. Run the Microsoft 365 Activation Troubleshooter: You can use the Microsoft 365 activation troubleshooter to help resolve activation issues. Make sure you are using the same Windows device where Microsoft 365 is installed. Follow the instructions in the Get Help app to run the troubleshooter.
    4. Remove Unused Devices: If you have reached the limit of installations for your license, you may need to remove unused devices. Go to https://myaccount.microsoft.com/device-list and sign in with the account that you use to activate Microsoft 365 Apps. Remove any devices that you no longer use.
    5. Contact Support: If the issue persists, consider contacting Microsoft support for further assistance, especially if you cannot recall the email associated with the previous license.

Following these steps should help you activate your new subscription successfully.
