I cannot remove S mode from my PC (115GHD, 512MB, 4GB RAM, intel Celeron N5090A. I only see "working on it " after waiting more than 30min with no results. I downloaded all of the updates for my computer, created a new email address and I do not have access to cmd. I included the event and security error messages Screenshot 2026-01-22 083231.pngScreenshot 2026-01-22 084016.png. I would appreciate any and all help.

    Hi, good day!

    • Can you check if your date and time are set correctly?

Please let me know if you have tried the method below.

    • Make sure your account is not connected to school/work.
    • Make sure to install all available and pending windows updates for your device.
    • Reset the Microsoft Store cache Press the Windows Logo Key + R to open the Run dialog box, type wsreset.exe and then select OK. Note: A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after about ten seconds the window will close, and Microsoft Store will open automatically.

After that, please check the support article in the link below on How to Switch out of S mode.

If the issue persists, you may need to try performing a Reset this PC with Keep my files option.

After that, please try to switch out of S mode again.
