I would like to ask for help, it's been about a month, maybe more, but I would like to ask how I could solve the problem 0x800704cf because it keeps popping up when I want to log in to my Microsoft account, I can log in normally on the Microsoft website, but I can't log in to the Microsoft store at all. I have Windows 11 Home.
I would be happy for a quick answer and help, and I would be even happier if it was as soon as possible, thank you.

    Hi,

Thank you for sharing your question. I understand how frustrating it must be to see the 0x800704cf error repeatedly, especially when your Microsoft account works perfectly on the web but not in the Store.

It can be discouraging when something as basic as signing into the Store suddenly stops working for weeks, especially if you need apps or updates urgently.

This error typically appears when Windows believes the device isn’t connected to the internet, even though your internet works normally. It is most commonly caused by network misconfigurations, VPN or proxy interference, incorrect TCP/IP settings, or corrupted Microsoft Store components. [thewindowsclub.com]

A reliable way to resolve this is by checking and repairing your network configuration. You can start by running the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter and the Network troubleshooter, which automatically detect and fix issues that may block sign‑ins.

If the issue persists, resetting the network stack often helps. You can do this by running the commands netsh winsock reset and netsh int ip reset in an elevated Command Prompt, then restarting your PC.

Since Store‑specific corruption can also trigger this error, repairing or resetting the Microsoft Store app through Settings > Apps > Advanced Options may also restore proper sign‑in.

    I hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Noel

The error code 0x800704cf typically indicates a network-related issue or a problem with your Microsoft account settings when trying to log into the Microsoft Store. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue:

    1. Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your internet connection is stable and working properly. Try accessing other websites or services to confirm.
    2. Restart Microsoft Store: Close the Microsoft Store app completely and then reopen it. You can also try restarting your computer.
    3. Reset Microsoft Store: You can reset the Microsoft Store by going to Settings > Apps > Apps & features, finding Microsoft Store, and selecting "Advanced options". From there, click on "Reset".
    4. Check Date and Time Settings: Ensure that your date and time settings are correct. Go to Settings > Time & Language > Date & time and toggle "Set time automatically" and "Set time zone automatically".
    5. Run Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters, and run the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter.
    6. Check Microsoft Store Install Service: Press the Windows Key + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter. Find the "Microsoft Store Install Service", right-click it, and select Restart. If it's not running, set it to Automatic and start the service.
    7. Sign Out and Sign In Again: Try signing out of your Microsoft account in the Microsoft Store and then signing back in.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to consider contacting Microsoft support for further assistance.
