Edge stops responding and I get "Page is not responding" popup. This happens when Edge is the only app open with only one tab trying to navigate to any item on the page. I can only get focus on one thing then it stops responding.

I have checked for Windows update = up to date

I have repaired Edge

I have disabled extensions

I have cleared cache

Restarted computer

Edge has become completely unusable at this time. Open to other suggestions.

Hi, I'm Bernard, a fellow Windows user. I'm happy to help!

Since you have done, most of the troubleshooting steps and still having the same issue, I suggest doing an in-place upgrade, wherein it will update the device to the latest version and repair all issues without deleting any files.

Kindly follow the steps from this link:

If Microsoft Edge is consistently showing the "Page is not responding" message, here are some suggestions that may help resolve the issue:

    1. Check for Known Issues: Sometimes, specific versions of Edge have known issues that can cause it to become unresponsive. You can check the Microsoft Edge known issues page for any relevant updates or fixes.
    2. Clear User Data: Since you've already cleared the cache, consider clearing other user data. You can do this by navigating to %AppData%\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\ and deleting the contents of the folder. Be cautious as this may reset your settings.
    3. Create a New User Profile: Sometimes, user profiles can become corrupted. Try creating a new user profile in Edge to see if the problem persists. You can do this by going to Edge settings and adding a new profile.
    4. Reinstall Edge: If the problem continues, you may want to consider reinstalling Edge. You can download the installer from the official Microsoft Edge website and use it to reinstall the browser over the existing installation.
    5. Check for Conflicting Software: Ensure that there are no other applications or software that might be conflicting with Edge. Sometimes antivirus or firewall settings can interfere with browser performance.
    6. Use Developer Tools: If you're comfortable with it, you can open Developer Tools (F12) to check for any console errors or network issues that might be causing the page to hang.

If none of these solutions work, you may want to consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
